Ralph is unemployed, unhappy and broke, so when a late, late night infomercial promises him riches the great American way, he goes for it and undertakes to open and manage a local franchise of the Dollartorium where he will sell money for money. After all, Ralph has been reading Plato, and he has come to wonder what is there for a good man to do in a world where the greedy have all the goods.
Of course, as in any comedy that owes a debt to Aristophanes, after a long, rude, crude, bumpy trip, Ralph is saved by his darling daughter who takes him back home to Kansas where they can raise pigs, watch their corn grow and dare to look their neighbors in the eye.
